BENRIACH AGED 40 YEARS

Originally built in 1898, the BenRiach Distillery closed in 1900 when the Scotch Whisky industry entered a period of recession, and remained closed until 1965 when it was re-opened by Glenlivet Distillers Ltd. Although limited quantities of whisky were distilled at BenRiach during 1965, none of those casks remain today, but we were fortunate enough to acquire a handful of casks dating from 1966 when we purchased the distillery in April 2004.

As such the BenRiach 40 Years Old is, we believe, the oldest expression of BenRiach that exists today.

We have combined 2 hogsheads of 1966 BenRiach to produce just 265 bottles - truly an exclusive and rare product.

The BenRiach 40YO is bottled at 50% vol at natural colour, and is non-chill filtered.

Each bottle is hand numbered, and comes housed in a mahaogany gift box, which also contains a miniature version of the 40YO, an engraved BenRiach pewter hip flask, and a certificate of authenticity signed by our managing director and master distiller Billy Walker.

This unique bottling truly represents a rare opportunity to own a genuine piece of BenRiach history.
