    Unusual for a Speyside malt, the BenRiach Dunder is distilled from peated malted barley. The whisky is matured in American oak casks and then finished in dark rum barrels. ‘Dunder’ is the name of the cane-juice residue left in the still after distillation; traditionally used as a yeast source in the fermentation process of Jamaican rum. Bottled at natural colour and non chill filtered.

    The BenRiach 22 Years old Albariza is part of our peated range. Originally matured in American oak casks, the whisky is then finished in Pedro Ximinez sherry casks. The name ‘Albariza’ is derived from the typical white soil used for growing grapes in the production of sherry in the Andalucia region of Southern Spain. Bottled at natural colour and non chill filtered.

  3. Dark Rum Finish Aged 22 Years

    Matured in the traditional style in American Bourbon barrels, this whisky is then ‘finished’ in dark rum barrels, sourced from the Caribbean island of Jamaica. During this second period of
    maturation, the whisky derives many interesting characteristics specific to the Dark Rum barrel, ripe stone fruit infused with vanilla, ginger and tangerine peel. Bottled at natural colour and non chill filtered.

  4. Quarter Casks

    This unique single malt has been matured in quarter casks. A smaller cask allows for more interaction between the wood and the spirit, giving the whisky a great depth of flavour and aroma in a shorter period of time. Bottled at 46%, non chill filtered and natural colour, this is a full-flavoured whisky with fantastic depth.

  5. Peated Cask Strength – Batch 1

    Many years ago, the BenRiach distillery defied convention and started to peat a proportion of our spirit, returning to the original Speyside character and flavour of malts typical of the nineteenth century. Matured in a combination of Oloroso Sherry casks and Bourbon barrels, Peated Cask Strength Batch 1 is non chill filtered, natural colour and bottled at 56%, so it can be experienced as if sampled from the source – straight from the cask. Warming oak, orchard fruits culminating in a sweet heather smoke.

    This unique single malt has been distilled from peated malted barley and has been fully matured in quarter casks. A smaller cask allows for more interaction between the wood and the spirit, giving the whisky a great depth of flavour and aroma in a shorter period of time. Bottled at 46%, non chill filtered and natural colour, this is an extraordinary, full-flavoured dram.

    The very first edition of our new Cask Strength release is classic BenRiach in style and shows BenRiach in its most natural state, cask strength, non chill filtered and of natural colour, allowing the distillery’s unique spirit to shine through. This complex single malt has a creamy, delicate taste and aroma that truly captures the BenRiach character with a combination of vanilla, fruits and sweet barley. The BenRiach Cask Strength Batch 1 is bottled at 57.2%.
